Tree Planting in West Sussex at The Willows

The Willows, at Dyke Farm, is being planted with a mix of native broadleaf species to improve wildlife corridors.

IMPORTANT VISITOR INFOTake only photos. Leave only footsteps.

To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.

This is a private woodland and can be visited by appointment only. Please email nicola [ @ ] nicolapeel [dot] com to make an appointment.

Dyke Farm is home not only to Farm Shop, selling a wide variety of produce, but also The Willows Lakeside Retreat.

With only a couple of dwellings around the lake, including a shepherds hut, this is truly like a private retreat. The Willows is also available for entire private hire for weddings and retreats. More info can be found at https://www.thewillowslakesideretreat.com/

Local wildlife that can be found in the area include badgers, deer, heron, kingfishers, dragonflies and bats who swoop over the lake. Buzzards circle overhead and you can enjoy the sound of the dawn chorus, the beautiful song of the nightingales and at night the call of the owls.

The trees, planted through the site, are maintained by the landowners with help from local volunteers to plant trees and undertake maintenance tasks to help the trees establish.

The new trees will help improve its biodiversity and provide shelter for wildlife.
