Rameldry Eastwood is several hectares of former Sitka Spruce plantation that is being replanted with native tree species.

Once the Sitka Spruce have been harvested, they are replaced native species such as Hazel, Oak, Rowan, etc.

There is also natural regeneration in the area mainly of Birch, Broom and Gorse.

The woodland also has an abandoned community pet cemetery, yet locals still come to visit their deceased pets occasionally. The woodland is often used by dog walkers too.

A wide variety of native, British trees species have been planted throughout the area, improving its biodiversity.

This will create new wildlife habitats and corridors as well as providing food and nectar sources for birds and other animals.
