To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

Melchet Court is located in the Hampshire village of Sherfield English, near Romsey.

St Edward's Charitable Trust is an independent residential special school on the grounds of Melchet Court owned and managed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clifton. They provide care and education for boys aged between ten and sixteen-plus who have behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD).

The school benefits from extensive grounds, a wide selection of workshops, specialist buildings, and very impressive sporting facilities.

They help pupils make better choices about their behaviour and consider the effect it has on others.

The school also seeks to help pupils attain a level of academic success, enabling them to exercise a wider choice of career opportunity

The grounds of the school extend to around 200 acres of parkland and woodland with numerous ancient trees.

Since winter 2009 EFORESTS, with help from volunteers and pupils at the school, planted a number of Silver Birch trees throughout the school's extensive grounds.

Some of the trees were planted along the impressive driveway leading up to the school's main building and others were planted behind the school in a newly created silver birch grove.
