Tree Planting in Devon at Keates Farm
Keates Farm is 28 acre smallholding in Tytherleigh, Devon. Part of the land is being enhanced with a mixture of native broadleaf and evergreen tree species.
IMPORTANT VISITOR INFO – Take only photos. Leave only footsteps.
To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.
Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.
Across the 28 acre farm the owner is planting new trees, close to the public footpaths that border the farm.
The entrance to the public footpath is on Broom Lane. Following the footpath you'll find the new trees in a clearing on the left hand side. The new trees are easy to spot in their tall, protective shelters. These help protect them from deer, that like to feed on the young leaves.
A mixture of woodland and meadow are being created in order to improve wildlife diversity.
