Tree Planting in Norfolk at Diss Community Woodland
Diss Community Woodland (Quaker Wood), on the outskirts of Diss, lies on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.
IMPORTANT VISITOR INFO – Take only photos. Leave only footsteps.
To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.
Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.

We’ve planted so many trees here that there isn’t any space to plant more.

Quaker Wood is a 5.5 acre site comprising young woodland, open spaces, wildflower meadow, pond and natural areas.
It is open every day and managed by Diss Community Woodland Project, a local volunteer group without any regular public funding.
The site is former and ancient meadowland that had been owned for over 200 years by The Diss Quaker Trust
By November 2008 the local community purchased the land and planted the first trees that had been grown seeds they'd planted 2 years earlier in their own tree nursery.
We've worked with the local volunteers since 2009 to plant hundreds more trees and the woodland is now a thriving local nature reserve.
