Bubbenhall Wood

Tree Planting in Warwickshire at Bubbenhall Wood

Bubbenhall Wood is a 45 hectare woodland, dating back to 1600, on the outskirts of Coventry.

IMPORTANT VISITOR INFOTake only photos. Leave only footsteps.

To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.

Bubbenhall Wood is a 45 hectare woodland managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

Dating back to 1600, and even mention in the Domesday Book in 1086, the woodland is part of The Dunsmore Living Landscape that will link up Wappenbury and Ryton woods with stretches of woods and hedgerows.

A vital part of the project is reconnecting local communities with the landscape and its rich heritage.

There is a mown path through the meadow which offers fantastic views over the pools.

With 43 different birds, 19 species of butterfly and 27 different types of fungi found here, there is always lots to see. Between the hazel, holly, ivy and elder, flowers pop up - from bluebells to wood anemone, wood avens to honeysuckle.

Oakley Wood is managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and EFORESTS have worked with the trust and local volunteers to plant hundreds trees across the site.

The newly planted trees will improve the biodiversity of the woodland and provide shelter and food sources for wildlife.
