Tree Planting in Cornwall at Bosavern Community Farm

Bosavern Community Farm is an area of land that is being planted with a mix of native broadleaf species.

IMPORTANT VISITOR INFOTake only photos. Leave only footsteps.

To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.

This is a private woodland and can be visited by appointment only. Please email info@bosaverncommunityfarm.org.uk to make an appointment.

Bosavern Community Farm was brought into community ownership 11 years ago. The farm has chickens, bees and vegetables and is run by volunteers.

There is a shop, allotments and a training for employment scheme. The vision is to develop a self-financing, community-led, food growing initiative to benefit the wider community of St Just, Pendeen and West Penwith in an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable way.

There are various tree planting areas on the farm, maintained by the volunteer 'TLC' group. The new trees are being planted to start a copse in the more sheltered corners of the "Standing Stone" field and to supplement the trees in a "Five Acre" field, which was planted up 6 years ago.

A wide variety of native, British trees species have been planted throughout the area, improving its biodiversity.

This will create new wildlife habitats and corridors as well as providing food and nectar sources for birds and other animals.
