To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.

The young tree saplings have been planted in clear, protective shelters to protect them from rodents, etc. who like the fresh, young bark on trees.

While the area is establishing it may just appear to be a group of tiny trees in plastic tubes stuck in the ground. However, within a few years the trees will have grown to around 3 times the height of the shelters and be established enough that the shelters can be removed.
