Annis Hill Community Woodland
Tree Planting on the Norfolk / Suffolk border at Annis Hill Community Woodland
Annis Hill Community Woodland is a new community woodland on former playing fields on the outskirts of Bungay.
IMPORTANT VISITOR INFO – Take only photos. Leave only footsteps.
To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.
Before visiting this woodland, please read our Frequently Asked Questions page, which gives you helpful tips about your tree and visitor guidance.
In future years Annis HIll will feature a restored pond, wildflower meadows and new copses of trees.
The new, community woodland will be a vital and unique contribution to the area.
A wide variety of native, British trees species have been planted throughout the area.
This will create new wildlife habitats and corridors as well as providing food and nectar sources for birds and other animals.

** IMPORTANT ACCESS INFO – SUMMER 2022
The footbridge, at the end of the public footpath from Waveney Road and that leads into the woodland, is currently being repaired so access may not be possible until late summer 2022.
However, the local volunteers (who planted and look after the trees) will be running a woodland maintenance session (weeding round the trees, etc.) at 1pm on Sunday 3rd July, so the gate on Annis Hill will be open at that time.
