Wincombe Lane Recreation Ground is small community woodland on the eastern side of Shaftsbury in Dorset.

To keep the woodland as natural as possible we don’t label individual trees and we ask that visitors do not place their own plaques, labels, flowers, etc in the woodland. Each tree we plant should be seen as part of a natural woodland.

We’ve planted so many trees here that there isn’t any space to plant more.

Wincombe Lane Recreation Ground is located on the eastern side of Shaftsbury in Dorset. The area of the site is around 3.8 hectares and the beginnings of community woodlands were planted there in 2011.

In recent years local volunteers have established three small copses in the playing field.

Tree Species at Wincombe Lane Recreation Ground

Since 2012 EFORESTS has worked with the land owners and local volunteers to plant 795 new native tree species.
